Within the realm of distance learning are varying degrees of home schooling requirements. Distance Learning, which is also referred to as home schooling, has many benefits to both students and families.
At Heritage, home schooling requirements and curriculum are based on five subjects — Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Word Building and Electives — for kindergarten through 12th grade. Our home schooling curriculum work is sent on a quarterly basis (2.25 months). Upon completion of one quarter’s worth of curriculum, a new quarter is shipped.
Parents will administer the Free Online Diagnostic Tests without coaching, which will help determine the home schooling requirements and then create the curriculum to custom fit each child. Diagnostic Testing is available to students in the 9th grade and below.
The Modular System of home schooling curriculum is built upon learning patterns. Within the modular system, new concepts are not introduced to the student until the present concept has been mastered. Concepts by concept, children home schooling requirements are assessed and programs are designed.
Upon completion of the home schooling requirements, high school diplomas are presented by the Academy.
